Put Differently…
I am on a mission:
driven by sonic obsessions, fueled by support from amazing family, mentors, and collaborators,
I get to live a life where it's my job to feel, hard,
and then help other people feel, together.
Sounds with goals, with trajectories, fly off the page, through performers and into the air, joining to shake us awake, to lure us into difficulty, to air out our wounds, to bring us peace.. or longing...
Sometimes I get to be one of the performers, whether it’s my piece or not. Singing (I study with Tony Arnold), playing electric guitar with tons of pedals (I played rock before coming back to school), or making weird electronic sounds (classes with Sam Pluta, Niloufar Nourbakhsh, Bryan Jacobs, and Russell Pinkston), I get to excite the air through a wild variety of media - codes to circuits to chords - and tickle all the particles, paths, and waves in between.
